Four irrigation gates

2018

iron

320 x 320 x 120 cm

The irrigation gates are elements that allow opening and closing the passage of water through the ditches to irrigate the cultivation fields. This is a piece based on dislocating the utilitarian reading of this type of elements from the agricultural environment to open them to new possibilities of interpretation. The whole set is balanced as a game of weights and counterweights in a single support point, so it works as a mobile and the presence of spectators in the room activates the movement and sound of the piece.
